Biography

Not Broken is a four-piece band that originated north of Boston in the Methuen-Haverhill, MA region. Not Broken, originally an acoustic act, has played extensively throughout New England for over ten years. During this time, the founders of the band, Michael Finochiaro (lead vocals) and David Torrisi (guitar), enjoyed radio airplay at local radio stations and played high profile gigs in Boston’s Faneuil Hall. In 2001, with their main focus on original music, Mike and Dave decided it was time to form a full band. Band members include Mike Finochiaro (vocals), Dave Torrisi (guitar), Brian Belfiore (drums), and Eric Kryzynski (bass).

Not Broken has a hard-driving, acoustic-electric, pop rock sound. Strong vocal melodies and soaring harmonies with an alternative edge highlight the band’s sound. The arrangements are tight and constructed around well-written songs.

Over the past three years Not Broken has played extensively around Boston’s North shore. Some of the band’s bigger gigs have included shows at Copperfield’s in Boston and The Middle East in Cambridge. Notable achievements over the past few years include:
  • Fourth place showing out of 36 bands in Boston’s Beantown meltdown.
  • Interview and album review in Soundcheck Magazine.
  • Radio airplay on WAAF 107.3, Rock 101.1, and WHEB 100.3
The band released its first CD in 2002 titled Peace Music with a highly successful CD release party at Club 125 in Haverhill, MA. The band was eventually invited to Florida to record their follow-up album under the direction of Jay Stanley. Jay, currently a successful engineer, producer, and songwriter, established a name for himself by co-writing the number one hit “3am” with Rob Thomas when they were in a band called Tabitha’s Secret in the 1990’s. Creed and Seven Dust have also recorded their latest albums at Jay’s in-home studio as well.

Demos of this upcoming album featuring the song “Ashamed” have already received radio airplay.
